Steps to Prepare

Once you have kept all the ingredients ready, you can follow these steps to make a simple multigrain homemade Cerelac recipe for your baby —

• In a big vessel, wash the pulses and rice many times until the water turns clean. Soak all the contents in separate vessels for at least 5 hours.

• After 5 hours, drain the water and spread the contents on a clean cloth or plate. Allow the rice and pulses to dry thoroughly under the sunlight.

• In a pan, dry roast the nuts (cashews, almonds, and walnuts) for about 2 minutes. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before you blend the contents to a fine powder. Use a sieve to remove the husk and other impurities from the powder.

• When the pulses and rice have completely dried, it is time to dry roast them. It is important to dry roast the contents individually to avoid burning or over-roasting them. Keep roasting only until the colour changes slightly and you start getting a nice aroma.

• In the same way, dry roast the cumin seeds and Hing.

• Allow the dry-roasted contents to cool down completely, before you blend the same to a coarse powder.

• Add all the powders in a bowl and mix the contents well. Use an airtight container to store the powder to use whenever you need it.

When it is time to feed this multigrain homemade Cerelac recipe to your baby, here is what you need to do:
