Here is how you can make a simple dal chawal within minutes right in your kitchen.
• Rice – ¼ cup
• Moong dal – 1 teaspoon
• Channa Dal – 1 teaspoon
• Water – 1.5 cups
• Oil – ¼ teaspoon
• Butter – ¼ teaspoon
• Salt – To taste
• In a bowl, wash the rice and lentils properly. Soak the contents in clean water for about 20 to 30 minutes.
• Drain the water from the soaked rice and lentils after half an hour.
• Add oil and the drained rice and lentils to a pressure cooker and keep stirring for a minute or so.
• Add salt and give it a nice stir. Now, it’s time to add water to the lentils and rice.
• Allow the contents to cook for 3 to 4 whistles. Let the pressure release naturally.
• Add a dash of butter to the contents when you open the lid. Mix the contents well, If it is too thick, add a little water to bring it to a semi-solid consistency.
• Now that the hot meal is ready, it is time to feed your baby.
