Ways to Make Bath Bombs at Home

Making bath bombs is therapeutic and a super fun DIY project! You can pick your favourite scents and colours to create a personalised spa experience right at home. It's pretty easy, too—just a few simple ingredients and a bit of patience. So, why not give the bombs a try and indulge in a relaxing bath? Read on to learn how to make bath bombs at home.

Steps to Make Bath Bombs at Home

Here we go with steps on how to make bath bombs at home:

1. Gather Your Ingredients

• 1 cup of baking soda

• 1/2 cup of citric acid (the fizzing magic)

• 1/2 cup of Epsom salt (to relax your muscles)

• 1/2 cup of cornstarch (for smooth skin)

• 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil or olive oil (moisturising goodness)

• A few drops of your favourite essential oil (lavender, peppermint, etc.)

• A few drops of food colouring (optional, but adds a fun touch)

• A spray bottle with water (to help the mixture stick together)

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

Mix the baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, and cornstarch in a large bowl. Stir them together until evenly mixed.

3. Add Wet Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix the coconut oil and essential oils. Slowly drizzle this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring constantly. Add a few drops of food colouring if you'd like to make your bath bomb pop with colour.

4. Moisten the Mixture

Now, lightly spray the mixture with water, one spray at a time. Be careful not to add too much! Ensure the mixture holds together when squeezed and doesn’t fizz off.

5. Mold the Bath Bombs

Once the mixture holds its shape, pack it tightly into a bath bomb mold (you can also use ice cube trays or silicone molds). Press firmly to ensure it's compact and holds together.

6. Dry the Bombs

It is time for the bath bombs to sit in the mold for about 24 hours to dry and harden. The longer they dry, the firmer they'll be.

7. Store the Bombs and Enjoy

The bombs must be dry by now. Remove the bath bombs from the molds with extreme care. Store the beauties in an airtight container. The bombs stay fresh and are ready for your next relaxing soak.

Conclusion

Want to add a bit of luxury to your bath time? Homemade bath bombs are the perfect solution. While they’re easy to make and fun to customise, they are incredibly relaxing. Add to that, they make for some lovely gifts for your loved ones. So why not give these a try?
