While taking into consideration the interest of all our stakeholders, like Customers, Business Partners, Re-insurers, Shareholders, Employees, and Society we actively ingrain our philosophy of SEED i.e Sensitivity, Excellence, Ethics and Dynamism into our business decisions. The sole purpose behind this initiative is to bring a smile and light up a million faces.

Gaon Mera PROGRAM (An initiative to promote rural education)

The focal area of our CSR activity is our flagship initiative called “Gaon Mera” which is aimed at improving the current status of Education and Sanitation in selected villages.

Education & Rural Development

It is said that, school is a home away from home for children. Several government-run schools are likely to be in a dingy, dilapidated state with no access to water, electricity or sanitation. Some of the Government schools don’t even have access to basic facilities like clean drinking water, toilets, libraries, and majority are devoid of computer labs.

To fill this gap, HDFC ERGO’s “Gaon Mera” program aims to address the need for sustainable educational infrastructure. Addressing the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of Education, the Company has invested in revamping the physical infrastructure through the reconstruction of Government Schools in Rural India. The newly built schools are well constructed using Building as Learning Aids ( BaLA guidelines ). It is an innovative concept which aims at qualitative improvement in education, by developing child-friendly and fun-based physical environment for learning. In this process, we ensure that the classrooms have ample of light & ventilation. The newly constructed schools are equipped with benches, desks, green boards, kitchen, dining facilities, libraries and computer rooms.
