• Skinless black gram — ½ cup

• Rice — 1 cup

• Refined oil — 2-3 tbsp

Steps to Make

Follow the given steps to prepare this recipe —

1. Wash the black gram and the rice thoroughly.

2. Soak the washed gram and rice in water for about two hours.

3. Drain out the excess water and blend the mixture of rice and gram. Add water as required to get a smooth paste.

4. Add salt as required and cover the rice and gram paste for nearly 10 minutes. Make sure the batter is of a semi-liquid consistency.

5. Heat a tawa on medium flame. Pour a ladle of batter on the tawa and gently spread the batter by moving the ladle in a circular pattern.

6. Drizzle the sides with oil to fry it, then flip it over to cook on both sides.

7. Serve the Pitha hot with dalma or coconut chutney.
