Being a parent is the most responsible role. Keeping the child happy, healthy and safe from any illness is the utmost priority of every parent. Nobody wishes to see their little child fall prey to cough, cold and other infectious diseases. Slowly, children prime their immunity by battling an ongoing series of viruses, germs and other organisms. This is why many pediatricians consider six to eight colds, bouts of flu, or ear infections per year normal. However, getting your kid to adopt healthy habits like sleeping on time, eating more green vegetables, and washing hands regularly can work as a great immune booster.
If you feel that you are unable to bond with the baby or you are not acting your usual self, you should not feel embarrassed to admit it. If you feel even the slightest symptom of postpartum depression or baby blues, you should get in touch with your doctor. Given below are some circumstances when it is important for you to call your doctor-
Good hygiene always keep germs and infections at a distance. Ensure your kids always wash their hands after returning home from outside, before meals, and after using the toilet.
You should ensure that your child at least spends an hour of activity daily, in the park or even an indoor playground.
Your child should get enough sleep as the body grows and becomes internally strong when at rest. So make sure that your kid goes to bed daily on time and get at least 10-12 hours of quality sleep. An energized and well-rested child is better equipped to keep diseases at bay.
Phytonutrients in vegetables may boost the body's production of infection-fighting white blood cells and interferon, an antibody that coats cell surfaces, blocking out viruses. Apart from this, green veggies are rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals and avoid oxidative stress in the body. Therefore, regularly include spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, and other veggies in your child's diet for strong immune.
The habits children adopt and the food they have, play a vital role in the long run in keeping the immune strong. It is also necessary for your kids to take adequate vitamin D for strong immune, hence whenever possible, move out with your kid in the park to get the sunshine. Apart from this, encourage your child to run around barefoot in the grass and allow them to get a little dirty, as exposure to everyday germs makes the body adaptable to the healthy bacteria in the body. However, make sure that your kid washes their hands and legs before eating or entering the home after playing.
