Where is the DL Form Available?

A driving license is a document that is granted by a city's RTO or RTA, or regional transport authority. If you want to file for one, you can get the necessary paperwork from your local or nearby RTO/RTA. Alternatively, many states have made it simple for residents to submit a driver's license application online using the RTO/RTA website. You can just download an application form from the website directly for states that permit online applications. This is advantageous as it prevents you from personally picking up the form from your neighbourhood RTO. Once the form has been downloaded, you can quickly fill it out at your discretion and return it to the RTO with the required documentation.

Documents Required for RTO Form

The submission of documentation comes after you have obtained the online application from the RTO. You must submit a number of specified documents to the RTO authorities in order to get your license. The list of required documents is provided below:
• Properly filled and signed Application Form. (form available for download on RTO website)
• Registration Certificate and Insurance Papers of the vehicle you will use for the driving test.
• Consent letter from the vehicle owner whose vehicle will be used for the driver's test (applicable only if the applicant does not own the vehicle).
• Passport-sized photographs. (Number as specified by your RTO issuing)
• Required fees (The fees can again differ from state to state)

How to Get a Driving license in Step by Step Method

The procedures to acquire a driving license form are as follows:

1. Set up an account at sarathi.nic.in.
2. Fill in the form carefully, then wait for the application number to appear. The red-coloured cells need to be filled up compulsorily.
3. Then click on the submit button. A message stating that your application has been saved successfully will pop up.
4. Before submitting the form, make a note of the application number.
5. Once you have completed the application form, you must schedule a driving license appointment with the RTO. To schedule a DL test appointment, tap on Appointment for DL test.
6. Select DL test for online applicants by clicking on DL Slot Booking. You must log in with your application number and birthdate to choose a test time slot.
7. Choose the time and day that work best for you to arrive at the test location.

Common Fields Included In A Driving license Form

When it comes to the driving license, it has different fields for the applicant's information, the kind of vehicle you want the license for, as well as other information about the driving test. The broad categories or fields found on a driving license application form are listed below.

Learners License Application
Form for Renewal or Grant

You must submit a properly completed Form 2 in order to obtain a new learner's license or maintain your existing learner's license. In addition to other information, it must also contain the applicant's driving test results, which show whether or not they passed the exam. The applicant, parent or guardian, and the licencing authority must all sign the paperwork, where necessary.

You must fill out this form with information such as the missing driver's license number, the issuing agency, your name, the names of your parents, spouse, and legal guardians, your permanent and temporary addresses, and the specifics of how the license was lost or destroyed. The applicant's signature or thumbprint is required at the bottom of the form.

Form of Physical Fitness (Form 1)

Those applying for a driver's license must complete the application and declare their physical fitness. The first section of this form, which is divided into two parts, asks for information about the applicant's name, immediate family members' names, permanent residence, date of birth, and identity markings. The applicant must declare any information about their physical fitness in the second area. The applicant must honestly disclose any medical issues, such as epilepsy, loss of muscle function in any limb, colour blindness, night blindness, hearing impairment, or any other illness that could make it difficult for them to operate a motor vehicle. Please be aware that candidates must submit the form in addition to the Form 1A Medical Certificate.

Medical Certificate (Form 1A)

All driver's license applicants must present the Medical Certificate or Form 1A to the relevant authorities with the physical fitness certificate. There are essentially three sections to this form. Applicants must include their name and any physical characteristics that can be used to identify them, such as a mole or scar. The applicant is next asked to declare any medical conditions they may have, such as vision problems (such as night or colour blindness), hearing, physical abnormalities, or memory loss that would impair their motor vehicle ability. The applicant may include their blood type or Rh factor in the optional section. An approved medical professional or medical officer must verify and sign the certificate, stating that they have examined the applicant and pointing out any inconsistencies with the necessary information.

Driving license

You must complete Form 8 if you want to add an additional class of vehicle onto your current driver's license. You must mark the box for the additional vehicle class under the next step. The applicant must next check the boxes next to the documents they are attaching (medical certificate in Form 1A, learner's permit in Form 3, driving license in Form 6/7, and driving certificate in Form 5 for transport vehicles), the fee amount, and the documents they are attaching. The Certificate of Test of Competence to Drive, which serves as the form's last component, must be completed by the authorised official of the testing authority.

This is the form you must submit if you want to modify the temporary or permanent address listed on your driver's license. If you wish to modify the temporary or permanent address listed on your driver's license, you must complete and submit Form LCA. The necessary information will need to be entered, including your name, your father's name, your new address (along with documentation of the change), your old address (as listed on your driver's license), the remaining validity of your driver's license, the licencing agency that last issued or renewed your driver's license, and the fee you paid to have your address changed on your driver's license. Before turning in the form, the applicant must properly sign it.
