According to a joint report by CREDAI, Colliers and Liases Foras, housing prices rose annually by an average of 10 % during the July-September quarter this year across the top eight cities in India. However, Hyderabad saw the highest increase of 19% Y-o-Y rise. Bengaluru, at 18 per cent rise on an annual basis, was a close second. According to the report, all eight major cities experienced a notable increase in housing prices. In Ahmedabad, housing prices rose by 9 per cent to ₹6,613 per square foot (carpet area), while in Bengaluru, to ₹9,471 per square foot, an increase of 18%.
Chennai saw a 7 per cent increase in prices to ₹7,712 per square foot, while Delhi-NCR witnessed a 12 per cent rise to ₹8,655 per square foot. Housing prices in Kolkata grew 12 per cent to ₹7,406 per square feet and Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) saw a marginal growth of 1 per cent in prices to ₹19,585 per square feet. During July-September, Pune saw housing prices appreciated by 12 per cent YoY to ₹9,014 per square foot. The highest was witnessed in Hyderabad, with an increase of 19 % by ₹11,040 per square foot. The numbers show a promising quarter for the realtors.
