Dubai International Airport (DXB) achieved a milestone in 2024 by handling 92.3 million passengers, reflecting a nearly 6% growth compared to the prior year and exceeding its previous record set in 2018. This accomplishment highlights Dubai’s strong resurgence in the aviation sector post-pandemic, reinforcing DXB’s position as the leading global hub for international travel. Key markets contributing to this surge included India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. In response to the increasing passenger traffic, Dubai has approved the construction of a new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport, aiming to accommodate up to 260 million passengers upon completion. This strategic move is part of Dubai’s broader plan to transition operations from DXB to Al Maktoum International by 2032, ensuring the emirate remains at the forefront of global aviation.
