In a bid to revive its tourism industry, the Indian government has eased travel restrictions for foreign tourists starting July 2024. The new policy includes simplified visa procedures, reduction in visa fees, and the introduction of a visa-on-arrival system for citizens of several countries. These measures aim to attract more international visitors and boost economic growth. The government also announced special promotional packages and collaboration with international travel agencies to highlight India's rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and diverse attractions. Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy stated that the relaxed policies would position India as a more accessible and attractive destination, driving a significant increase in tourist arrivals. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the global image of Indian tourism and strengthen its contribution to the national economy.
