With summer vacation nearing, Mexico proudly announces 78 Blue Flag beaches, two marinas, and 40 sustainable tourism boats. Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marques revealed 12 new Blue Flag distinctions for 2024-2025, including a new site in Quintana Roo. Mexico is the leading Blue Flag destination in North America and ranks 10th globally. The Blue Flag program aims to promote environmental awareness among tourists and locals. Beyond its Blue Flag sites, Mexico boasts over 138 million hectares of forests and jungles, numerous Protected Natural Areas, archaeological zones, museums, historical monuments, and 177 Magic Towns. Additionally, Mexico is home to 35 UNESCO World Heritage sites and 10 cultural expressions recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity, offering travelers a rich array of experiences.
