Vietnam has set an ambitious goal to attract 22–23 million international tourists in 2025, aiming to exceed pre-pandemic figures. This objective marks a 31% rise from the 17.5 million foreign visitors recorded in 2024. To achieve this, the government is focusing on improving infrastructure, streamlining visa policies, and intensifying promotional efforts in key markets, including India, which has shown impressive growth with 501,000 visitors in 2024. The tourism sector, contributing approximately 12% to the nation’s GDP before the pandemic, is poised to become a pivotal economic driver. Long-term plans include reaching 70 million international arrivals by 2045, potentially positioning Vietnam as Southeast Asia’s second-largest tourist destination after Thailand. These strategic initiatives underscore Vietnam’s commitment to revitalizing its tourism industry and enhancing its global appeal.
