Hero Vida Electric Scooter

It would be wise to sit up and take note when the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world introduces its first electric scooter. On 7th October 2022, the Hero Vida electric scooter, the company's first EV model, will be available for sale. The new Hero electric scooter was initially supposed to debut in March but was further postponed to July 1. Everything is now prepared to see a commercial debut.

With its first EV, the Vida V1 electric scooter, Hero MotoCorp has finally entered the market for electric two-wheelers.

Here are the top 5 things you should understand about it.

1. Offered in two variants:

Hero MotoCorp is launching Hero Vida Electric Scooter in two variations: Plus version and the Pro version. The key distinction between the Plus and Pro versions of the Vida V1 will be their battery packs. The premium Pro variant receives a larger 3.94kWh battery pack than the cheaper Plus variant, which has a smaller 3.44kWh battery pack. Matte Sports Red, Matte White, and Gloss Black are the three colour options available for the Hero Vida V1's two variations. However, a new colour option known as Matte Abrax Orange will be offered for the Vida V1 Pro.

2. Charging and range:

Because of this, the claimed ranges for the two V1 variants also vary. The Pro's larger battery pack allows it to achieve a more significant range of 165km, compared to the Plus's 143km. It's important to remember that these are IDC test numbers and that the actual range will be slightly lower. On the other hand, the Pro's increased range requires more time to charge—5 hours and 55 minutes as opposed to 5 hours and 15 minutes for a 0 to 80% top-up with the home charger.

3. Motor and performance:

The electric motor in both versions has a 3.9kW continuous output and a 6kW peak power. The V1 can reach its stated peak speed of 80 kph with this. However, there is a tiny difference in acceleration between the two models. The Pro manages the 0-40kph sprint in 3.2 seconds, while the Plus completes it in 3.4 seconds.

4. Features

The Vida V1 is a feature-rich scooter with the same kit for both variations. With a 3.44kWh battery, the newly launched Hero Vida V1 Plus electric scooter ranges up to 143 kilometers. On the other hand, the Hero Vida V1 Pro comprises of a 3.94kWh battery which will give 165 km range. Both variations reportedly have a 0–40 kmph acceleration time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 80 kmph. A 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, two-way throttle, cruise control, keyless entry, SOS Alert, and OTA updates are among the other amenities. The new Hero Vida V1 electric scooter has three riding modes: Eco, Ride, and Sports.

5. Pricing and rivals:

Hero's new Vida electric scooter is anticipated to be marketed for the general public. The price of the Vida V1 is Rs. 1.45 lakh for the Plus model and Rs. 1.59 lakh for the Pro model. The FAME-II subsidy is included in these ex-showroom rates; state-level subsidies are not included. At this cost, the Vida V1 is one of the priciest electric scooters on the market right now, costing more than its top rivals, the Ather 450X, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ola S1 Pro. Beginning on October 10, prospective purchasers can make reservations for the electric scooters for Rs 4,999.

What should you keep in mind while buying Hero Vida Electric Scooter?

One thing to note here if you are planning to buy the newly launched Hero Vida Electric Scooter is that you should buy third-party two-wheeler insurance for your vehicle without fail. Two-wheeler insurance, commonly referred to as bike insurance, protects your vehicle against monetary losses resulting from unfavorable circumstances, including fire, theft, flood, earthquake, or an accident with a third-party vehicle, person, or property. You should consider protecting your vehicle with an online bike or scooter insurance. Additionally, getting a thorough bike insurance policy is advisable to protect your vehicle from any harm brought on by natural disasters. According to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, every motor vehicle owner must obtain third-party bike insurance. Under such a policy, anyone injured in an accident that was the insured person's fault is entitled to reimbursement from the insurer. However, choosing comprehensive bike insurance is advised since it offers all-around coverage, including coverage against damages to your car, someone else's, or their property. Always buy third party two wheeler insurance from trustworthy providers like HDFC Ergo. Check out thisHero twowheeler insurance for your new vehicle!
