HMPV is a common respiratory virus that causes lower and upper respiratory infections. It is not a new discovery and cases have been reported from various countries over the years. There is no specific antiviral treatment for HMPV and prevention is the only key to prevent its spread.
Common symptoms of HMPV infection include cough, cold, fever, etc. In some cases, infection may also lead to breathlessness and nasal congestion.
To prevent HMPV infection, people must wash their hands regularly, maintain social distancing, and wear masks. It is also advisable to isolate if one develops any symptom related to HMPV.
