With dengue cases rising in the national capital with every passing day Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that measures have been taken to combat the spread and create more awareness among public regarding the outbreak. He mentioned that warnings and awareness announcements are being made across all metro stations, bus stations and other public transport hubs to inform people about dengue prevention.
He also stated that it is necessary for all government hospitals in the city to be fully equipped to handle dengue cases and directed several actions to the health secretary to ensure implementation of the same. In this regard, he mentioned that he has directed the health secretary to visit one government hospital each day to check that all necessary dengue-related equipment is available. However, he also emphasised if these visits have not commenced he will personally visit the hospitals and ensure compliance.
He also mentioned that he is trying his best to contain the outspread and the authorities are doing the best that they can while documenting every action that is taken.
