Things to Consider while Practicing Yoga at Home

There are numerous benefits of yoga and one can practice it anywhere, anytime, and with limited gears. The benefits of yoga can be individualized as per requirements with the help of at-home practice. With yoga practice at home, one can focus on their body and not get disturbed by others in a yoga class.

1. Get a Mat and Some Things to Use

One of the best things about yoga is that it doesn't require much gear. A yoga mat and few other handy tools can make some poses much more comfortable.

2. Make Some Room

One must ensure that they have enough space in the room to stretch. You can also try to find a nice, quiet place as it helps in improving focus.

3. Practice with Attainable Deadlines

Don’t compare with others and instead focus on what works best for you instead. Start by making a clear, actionable deadline to be practiced every day. The key is to fit yoga into your daily routine.

4. Keep in Mind the Three Ps

If you're a beginner, remember the three Ps of yoga:-

a. Patience

b. Persistence

c. Practice

5. Listen to Your Body

If your body is aching and it is not able to stretch properly, don't fret, as all bodies are not equally flexible. You should listen to your body requirement and act accordingly.

6. Make it Fun

Companionship is known to enhance the benefits of yoga. Practicing with a friend or in an online class can be a fun way as it gives you a chance to share your experiences with others and helps in keep you going.

7. Don't Forget about Pranayama & Meditation

Yoga practice at home can be a great way to learn how to meditate and do pranayama, practicing this will help you feel calmer and in- control, and attain full benefits of yoga.

8. Don't Stop Trying

Always remember that ‘practice makes a man perfect’ so don’t give up if you find any asanas difficult. Instead keep practicing till you master it.
