The RTOs of Ahmedabad allow vehicle owners to submit vehicle registration application forms online for ease and convenience.
The process to register vehicles at Ahmedabad RTOs is as follows –
• Fill up Application Form 20 for the registration of a new vehicle. Submit it online through the web portal of Gujarat's transport department.
• You must also pay the registration fee online when submitting the form.
• Take a printout of the filled form and attach all the relevant documents. Submit the form and the documents at the local RTO. You would also have to submit proof of payment of the registration fee. It is important to note that for registration of a car and two-wheeler, it is mandatory to have a car insurance and bike insurance policy, respectively.
• The vehicle dealer can inspect the vehicle and submit an inspection certificate. This certificate should also be submitted along with Application Form 20.
• However, if the dealer has not inspected the vehicle, you will have to bring the vehicle to the RTO so that it can inspect and issue the inspection certificate.
• After the application form and the attached documents are successfully verified, the RTO allots a registration number randomly generated online.
• The vehicle owner gets the registration number through the email or SMS facility
• The RC book in the Smart Card format is then dispatched to the vehicle owner through speed post at the registered address.
