Chennai-based electric vehicle startup, Raptee.HV, has launched India’s first electric motorcycle, T30 priced at Rs 2.39 lakh. The model competes with traditional 250-300cc internal combustion engine bikes, as per the company. It is available in two variants, the T30 and T30 Sport, both priced the same at Rs 2.39 lakh. Deliveries for T30 are expected to begin in January 2025, initially in Chennai and Bangalore, with further expansion plans based on demand. Interested buyers can now pre-book the motorcycle for a minimal fee of Rs 1,000 through the company’s website.
The Raptee HV’s design features a diamond-shape headlamp, sharp lines and a split-seat setup with sleek grab rails. In terms of features, the bike is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display that supports Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. The bike will be available in four colour options: Arctic White, Eclipse Black, Mercury Grey, and Horizon Red.
Raptee.HV T30 is powered by a 22-kW electric motor that delivers a peak torque of 70 Nm, enabling a top speed of 135 km/h. The motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It comes with three riding modes: Comfort, Power, and Sprint. The 5.4 kWh battery pack offers a claimed real-world range of 150 km (200 km IDC) on a single charge and supports CCS2 charging, making it compatible with over 13,500 charging stations across India. This means that the motorcycle can be charged using the same charger as an electric car.
