Innovation Gets Redefined by Tata Avinya Electric Car

Tata Avinya Electric Car

Any conversation about electric cars in India is bound to revolve around Tata. The long-trusted brand has been regularly introducing new models in an otherwise EV-starved market. With time, the company has gained an enviable position among EV car sellers in India and intends to keep it that way. Keeping this in mind, Tata introduced the Avinya electric car concept in mid-2022. Avinya is the Sanskrit word for innovation and the IN in its middle shows that the car has Indian roots and is meant for the modern-day car buyer. According to Tata, the car will change the way you buy and own cars and have a sizeable impact on Tata dealers, Tata service and Tata insurance as well. Also, as far as the last one is concerned, no matter which car you buy from the brand, getting a comprehensive Tata insurance policy is a must.

Say Yes to New-Age Mobility with Avinya

Tata Avinya is the Gen 3 EV vehicle concept for India under the umbrella of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. Tata is looking to market the Avinya as early as 2025 and is also planning to launch a slew of cars based on the concepts and technologies that they have introduced in Avinya.

Design and looks wise

Avinya gives a lot of hints about it being an EV. However, as you might know already, electric car designers always encounter a key problem. Make the car look too normal and sales will suffer because there is not enough visual buzz around it for being a different kind of car. Make it look too different and the sales will suffer again because the car may look unappealing. Avinya, despite being a concept car, has shown that Tata can strike a balance here. The car is designed with a very good approach and departure angles. Wheels are right on both edges along the 4.3 m length of the car. The car gets good spoiler that flows with the overall design. Aerodynamic design features are also present to provide that extra push to the car. You will also get air passage vents on the side running boards. Even the alloy wheels will come with special features for better air flow around the car.

Interior Space

Theinterior space of the car is quite generous because of the way it is designed. As the wheels are on ends and the engine compartment is also very small, you can truly utilise the space that the car provides. The concept model comes with coach doors where the front door gets front side hinge and the rear door gets rear side hinge. As a result, there is no B pillar on the car, which makes getting in and out very easy. The rear seat looks like a sofa, in fact. The floorboard is made of oyster shells. You also get ambient lighting in the car. Rear air conditioning vents come mounted on doors. This is perhaps a first for a car in India, along with headrest-mounted speakers. One very important feature that makes the interior special is auto rotating seat. Once you open the door, the front passenger seat rotates outward to make it easy to sit in the car. Once you are firmly seated, the seat moves back to its standard front facing position.

Gadgetry and Electronics

As far asgadgetry and electronicsare concerned, everything is quite remarkable. Unlike the traditional instrument console, the car gets a

panoramic marquee display which shows all important data points related to the vehicle. Side mirrors are also replaced with cameras which get their own screens. On the steering wheel, you get a centre-mounted screen. This has both touch screen and physical controls. You also get voice command controls. The concept here is to provide you the information and controls as and when you need and get out of the way when you need to focus on the road.

Powertrain and Battery

Now, coming to the powertrain and battery of the car, Tata expects the car to be able to deliver a range well in excess of 500 km. They have also stated that the car will support fast charging, so much so that compatible fast chargers will be able to jam in enough power in its cells for the car to travel 500 km after just 30 minutes of charging.

Pricing

Pricing of the car has not been announced yet as Tata has only unveiled the concept. However, as the EV tech matures, the price of the car as well as your Tata insurancecost is likely to go up. But it will be worth it.

Rivals

As far as rivals are concerned, as of now, there is no car that can be called its rival in the Indian market, unless Tesla decides to venture, since most other EVs are made to share their platform with internal combustion engine variants. The best part is, Tata says that the company has focused on a human-centric design with an aim of improving the overall quality of life of the car owner. Hence, once Avinya is ready for purchase, you will most likely find it to be a worthy mobility investment that promises utmost satisfaction too. Just make sure you get the right Tata Insurance plan to protect such an amazing vehicle from all uncertainties.
