Based on the new ALFA platform with Ziptron high voltage architecture with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 129bhp electric motor fixed on the front axle. Tata Punch EV has a spacious passenger cabin and a compact engine bay. The EV variant of Tata Punch is a mid-sized SUV and is expected to replace the Tigor EV.

3. Tata Harrier And Safari Petrol:

Tata Harrier and safari cater to the premium SUV segment but were available in diesel variants only. The company is soon launching the SUV in petrol variant and working on a new turbo petrol engine.

● Engine & Specifications:

The new variant will have a 1.5-liter 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol motor coupled with the same gearbox as in the diesel variant. It gives a power output of around 150 horses and a torque output of 250 Nm.

● Design & Features:

There is no update in the design and features which remains the same as in the diesel variants. The petrol variant will compete with MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700.

● Launch date:

It is expected to be launched in 2022.

4. Updated Tata Nexon:

Tata Nexon has been one of the best-selling cars in India. The company is preparing to launch an improved and updated version of Tata Nexon EV.

● Engine & Specifications:

The updated model will have a 40kWh battery pack with a motor power of 100 kW and a maximum driving range of around 400km on a single charge compared to the current range of 300 kms. The updated version will get a more powerful 6.6 KW AC charger.

● Design & Features:

The design will have no changes. However, there are new features added like upgraded braking setup with all-disc brakes, new selectable regen modes, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Tata Nexon is positioned against MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

● Launch date:

The updated model is expected to be launched in April 2022.
