Most working professionals like us who reside with family have been placed in a precarious situation due to the pandemic. Our workplaces are opening up again. How does this leasing service work?

Electric Mobility Brand, Ampere Vehicles, in August 2020 tied up with Mumbai-based car financing startup OTO Capital to lease two-wheelers within 48 hours by undertaking the documentation. Anyone interested in this service can book their two-wheeler by going on the OTO capital website or directly approaching the dealerships. You can also have your scooter home-delivered! As of now, this partnership is providing services only in Bangalore.

In September 2020, Piaggio India, the manufacturer of Vespa and Aprilia scooters, has said that it will be offering its scooters on lease. Piaggio, too, has tied up with OTO Capital and is offering services in Pune and Bangalore. So, under the leasing model, you will have to pay only for the number of years you wish to keep the two-wheeler. Of course, you can return it anytime or you could buy it once the lease period is over. Also, through the leasing option, you can goahead and upgrade to a more premium model of the two-wheeler at the same EMI budget.

Even though we know the nitty-gritty of leasing a two-wheeler, here are five reasons why renting a two-wheeler is a great option for you!

• Convenience: Be it your daily commute or your trip to the local vegetable market, the two-wheeler is hassle-free. It can squeeze through narrow lanes and traffic congestions, saving your time and energy. A small gap is all you will need to maneuveryour way through. Excess time navigating the traffic may cause stress after a hard day’s work. This is where the two-wheeler can be used to your advantage and may even act as a stressbuster.

• Requires less parking space: Well, you can park a two-wheeler just about anywhere. You do not need a dedicated place for it, or you need not worry about whether you will get a parking space wherever you are visiting. You can always count on your two-wheeler to fit in any nook or corner that you chose.

• Light on the pocket: Not only is it more affordable, but also fuel-efficient. So, whether you plan to own it or lease it, the two-wheeler will mostly cost you less. Also, it gives a good mileage and the cost of fuel is also less. So, it’s quite light on your pocket.

• Lower commitment: If you are one of those people who do not wish to commit to a two-wheeler for a longer duration, then leasing a two-wheeler is a great option. At any point in time, before the tenure is over, you can exit with a minimum penalty or no penalty at all. Your vehicle can also be maintained by paying a nominal amount every month.

• Open to air: As the pandemic continues unabated, we wish for a more open environment as closed spaces increase your chances of catching the COVID-19 virus.
