• You must clean the rice by rinsing it with cold water, which will remove the impurities. Then, you must drain all the water and set the rice aside.
• Now, clean the fish and cut it into chunks. Marinate the chunks with salt and turmeric, which will reduce the odour and increase their flavour.
• Drizzle some oil in a large pot. Add the ginger, garlic, and green chillies and sauté them. Remember to mince and grate the ginger and garlic.
• Peel the hard shell of bamboo shoots and cut the soft part into chunks. Add the shoots and chopped seasonal vegetables into the pot. Stir-fry them for a couple of minutes to retain the crunch.
• Now, put the cleaned rice into the pot and add water. Boil the mixture gently.
• Now, lower the heat and add the fish chunks. Simmer the mixture for 20 to 25 minutes until everything is cooked.
• Add salt to taste. If the mixture is thick, add water to maintain a stew-like consistency.
• The recipe is ready and set to serve.
