Car insurance is not only an important safety feature for your Maruti car but also a legal requirement (third party insurance) to drive on roads. The Motor Vehicles Act mandates minimum a third party car insurance cover for all vehicles plying on Indian roads. Keeping your Maruti car insured is a mandatory part of the car ownership experience. Here are some reasons why maruti car insurance is important:
In addition to being a legal necessity, your third-party liability insurance protects you from damages and losses your Maruti Suzuki car could cause to the third party vehicle, person or property. In case of an accident, claims raised by the other person can be covered under this policy, reducing your financial as well as legal burdens.
In case you choose to go for a comprehensive car insurance policy for your maruti car, in the event of an accident, natural disasters or even theft, your Maruti Suzuki car will get holistic cover. This includes the cost of repairs or replacement of faulty parts, emergency assistance for breakdowns, and even the cost of alternate commute should your Maruti go into repairs.

For new drivers, knowing that you are insured with at least a third-party cover will give you the confidence to drive challan-free on the roads. For experienced drivers, most road accidents are not necessarily your fault. Just knowing that you are protected from any eventuality helps you stay stress-free.
While a third party car insurance is the mandated cover, it is always recommended that you choose a comprehensive policy. This is because the liability cover will only cover the damages your car causes to a third party. Your own damages will not be covered.
Choosing HDFC ERGO Insurance for your Maruti car, however, comes with the following benefits:
If you want to buy Maruti Insurance, you can choose HDFC ERGO for hassle free claims. In addition to this, we have a network of 9000+ cashless networked garages. If your Maruti insurance renewal is due for expiry, you should buy your policy now. Here’s how you can do that:
Third-Party (TP) plans are designed to protect you against financial and legal liabilities in the case of an accident. Getting a third-party plan for your Maruti car is essential to avoid penalties and cover your finances against third-party claims. Above all, it is a reasonably priced policy for all. Wondering how? Well, based on the cubic capacity of every vehicle, the IRDAI predefines the third-party premium, making it aligned and affordable for all Maruti Suzuki car owners.
Own Damage (OD) insurance for your Maruti car, on the other hand, is optional but highly beneficial. This cover allows you to compensate for the repair and replacement expenses in the event of an accident or natural calamities like earthquakes, fires, storms, and more. However, unlike the third-party premium, the premium for own damage for your Maruti Suzuki varies. Wondering why? Let us explain. The OD premium for your Maruti Suzuki car is usually calculated on IDV, zone, and cubic capacity. Thus, depending upon your car's specifications or which city your car is registered in, your premium will differ. The premium is also affected by the add-ons you choose with your standalone own damage cover or a bundled cover. Also, bear in mind that any modifications to your Maruti Suzuki car will result in higher premiums.
Worry not, you do not need a pen, paper and a calculator to calculate. Just follow these simple steps to get a fair estimate of how much your Maruti Suzuki car insurance will cost you.
The world has gone digital, and so has our claim settlement process with these four quick, easy-to-follow steps.
