Honda Motorcyle & Scooter India Overtakes Hero MotoCorp in Wholesales
Hero MotoCorp has slipped to the second position behind Japanese arch-rival Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India in wholesales. In retail sales, however, Hero remains the two-wheeler king. Honda clocked just over 18.53 lakh units in domestic wholesales in the April-July period, while Hero has managed to sell over 18.31 lakh units, according to the data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam). “Ahead of festival season and based on initial signs of recovery, Honda has ensured supplies to the network”, said Ravi Bhatia, president of research firm Jato Dynamics.

Honda to Stop Making Petrol-Powered Bikes & Scooters by 2040
Honda decides to stop making ICE bikes and scooters by 2040. The two-wheeler giant will only sell clean energy vehicles from 2040. This is the first time the Japanese brand has given a deadline to go all green. It will launch a total of 10 EVs, including motorcycles, by 2025. Through this, it expects to have annual sales of one million EVs by 2026. In India, the company is yet to launch an EV and this is likely to happen in next few months. Honda Activa electric is likely to make its debut soon.
